Why does my upload fail or hang?▼
Most common causes: (1) file is larger than your tier's limit — Free 15 MB, Pro 100 MB, Business 500 MB. (2) unstable internet — try a wired connection or different network. (3) file is corrupt — try opening in a different PDF reader first. (4) browser extension blocking the upload — try incognito mode.
Why is my OCR result inaccurate?▼
Common reasons: low scan resolution (use 300 DPI minimum), poor contrast, skewed pages, unusual fonts, handwriting (Tesseract handles printed text best). Try the auto-rotation option, ensure the source is clear, and select the correct language.
Why is processing so slow?▼
Most operations finish in under 10 seconds. If yours is slow: (1) the file is large or complex (50+ pages). (2) the free tier is rate-limited during peak hours. (3) OCR on multi-page scans takes 1-3 seconds per page. Pro and Business get priority queue access.
My download link is broken — what do I do?▼
Files are auto-deleted after 1 hour. If you waited too long, run the operation again. If you just downloaded and the file is corrupt, your browser may have terminated the download — try downloading again, preferably from the dashboard.
Konomic doesn't work in my browser▼
We support the last 2 versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Brave. If you're on an older browser, update it. We don't support Internet Explorer or older Edge (pre-Chromium). Mobile browsers on iOS 14+ and Android 9+ work fine.
I get 'File too large' even though my file is under the limit▼
Check the exact byte count, not the rounded MB display. 'Maximum 100 MB' means 100,000,000 bytes (decimal). If your file is 105 MB, it'll be rejected even if you're on Pro. Try compressing the PDF first or upgrading to Business.
Why does the editor show garbled text?▼
This happens with PDFs using non-standard fonts, complex CIDFont encoding, or when the PDF was generated by an unusual tool. Workaround: use the OCR tool first to extract text as a fresh layer, then edit. Or open the PDF in Adobe Reader and export as a 'clean' PDF.
Sign Request email not arriving▼
Check the recipient's spam folder. We send from Konomic via Resend (a reputable transactional email provider). If still not arriving, the recipient may be on a corporate email server blocking external attachments — try a Gmail or personal address.
My Pro subscription isn't working▼
After upgrade, refresh the page or log out and back in. The new tier should show in your dashboard. If it still shows Free, contact hello@konomic.io with your Stripe receipt — we'll fix it within an hour.
Why am I being asked to sign in for a free tool?▼
Some tools (like Sign Request) require an account because they store state (sign requests, audit trails). Most other tools work without signin. Sign in once and the dashboard remembers your preferences across tools.
The tool froze mid-operation — did I lose my file?▼
Your original file is safe — Konomic processes a copy. Refresh the page and try again. If it freezes repeatedly with the same file, it may be corrupt or have unusual encoding. Try opening it in another PDF reader first to verify.
Why are file processing times different on mobile?▼
Most processing happens server-side, so phone speed shouldn't matter. However, large file uploads on slow mobile data can be slow. WiFi is recommended for files over 10 MB.
How do I report a bug?▼
Email hello@konomic.io with: (1) what you were trying to do, (2) what happened instead, (3) browser and OS version, (4) sample file if possible. We respond within 24 hours and fix critical bugs same-day.
Why does the Stamp tool render text upside down?▼
If you're seeing rotated stamps, you may have an old browser cache. Force-refresh (Cmd+Shift+R or Ctrl+Shift+R). If that doesn't fix it, the source PDF may have unusual page rotation metadata — try running it through Rotate PDF first to normalize.
I can't see my files in the dashboard▼
Files are listed only for signed-in users. Make sure you're logged into the correct account. Files older than 1 hour are auto-deleted and won't show up. Pro and Business have longer retention (24 hours and 7 days respectively).
