Konomic + Google Drive

Automatically process PDFs when they're uploaded to Drive. OCR scanned documents, compress large files, merge batches — all triggered by Drive events.

Google Drive is where most teams store their PDFs. Konomic + Google Drive lets you automate the most common processing tasks: when a new PDF appears in a specific folder, it's automatically OCR-ed, compressed, or processed in whatever way you need.

Set up takes 5 minutes via Zapier or Make — no coding required.

WORKFLOW #1

Auto-OCR for scanned uploads

  1. Trigger: New file in Drive folder "Scanned Documents"
  2. Action: Konomic runs OCR (auto-detects language)
  3. Action: Replace original with OCRed version
  4. Action: Send Slack notification to team channel

Result: every scan in the folder becomes searchable automatically.

WORKFLOW #2

Auto-compress large PDFs

  1. Trigger: New file over 10 MB in Drive
  2. Action: Konomic compresses at Recommended quality
  3. Action: Save compressed version in the same folder
  4. Action: Move original to "Archive" folder

Result: team members always see optimized versions, originals are archived for legal record.

Monthly invoice merging

  1. Trigger: 1st of each month (schedule)
  2. Action: Collect all PDFs from "Invoices/{month}" Drive folder
  3. Action: Konomic merges into single "Invoices-{month}.pdf"
  4. Action: Save merged file to "Monthly Reports" folder
  5. Action: Email accounting team with download link
WORKFLOW #4

Drive → Sign Request → Drive

  1. Trigger: New PDF in Drive folder "To Sign"
  2. Action: Konomic Sign Request sends to configured recipient
  3. Webhook: When signed, signed PDF is saved to "Signed" folder in Drive
  4. Action: Notify sender via email

Setup via Zapier

  1. Create a Konomic Business account and get your API key
  2. In Zapier, create a new Zap
  3. Choose "Google Drive — New File in Folder" as the trigger
  4. Select your Drive folder
  5. Add Konomic as the action app, choose the operation (OCR, compress, etc.)
  6. Map the file from Drive to the Konomic action input
  7. Add a final Google Drive step to save the result back
  8. Turn on the Zap — it now runs automatically on every new file
