Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 11, 2026

Konomic uses only essential cookies. No tracking, no advertising, no third-party analytics. Here's exactly what we store in your browser and why.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser by websites you visit. Cookies can be used for many purposes — some essential to make a website work, others for tracking or advertising. We only use the essential kind.

Cookies we use

Authentication session

  • Name: konomic_session
  • Purpose: Keep you logged in across page reloads
  • Type: First-party, HTTP-only, secure
  • Duration: 7 days (refresh token), 15 minutes (access token)
  • Required: Yes, if you want to use account features

Language preference

  • Name: lang
  • Purpose: Remember your interface language (en, ru, es, de, fr, pt)
  • Type: First-party, localStorage
  • Duration: Until you change it or clear browser data
  • Required: No, but recommended for non-English speakers

CSRF token

  • Name: csrf_token
  • Purpose: Prevent cross-site request forgery attacks
  • Type: First-party, HTTP-only, secure
  • Duration: Per session
  • Required: Yes, for security

Cookies we DON'T use

  • ❌ Google Analytics
  • ❌ Facebook Pixel
  • ❌ Hotjar, Mixpanel, Segment, or any tracking platform
  • ❌ Advertising or remarketing cookies
  • ❌ Cross-site tracking cookies
  • ❌ Affiliate tracking cookies (we use server-side attribution instead)

Why no tracking?

Most online tools use tracking cookies to monetize visitor behavior — selling data to advertisers, building user profiles, or training algorithms. We don't. Our revenue comes from paid subscriptions, so we don't need to surveil free users.

The downside: we have less data about how the product is used and rely on direct customer feedback to improve. We think this is the right trade-off.

Do Not Track

We respect the DNT(Do Not Track) header. Since we don't track users in the first place, this is mostly a no-op for us, but we honor it as a signal of intent.

Cookie consent

Because we only use essential cookies, we don't show a cookie consent banner. EU regulations (ePrivacy + GDPR) require consent only for non-essential cookies — and we don't use any.

How to clear cookies

You can clear Konomic cookies anytime through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → See all cookies → konomic.io
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → konomic.io
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → konomic.io

Note: clearing the session cookie will log you out, and clearing the language cookie will reset to the auto-detected default.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if we add or remove cookies. Material changes will be announced on the website.
